HAIR EXTENSIONS AFTERCARE ADVICE

To maintain your extensions in the best possible condition, it is important that
you follow the advised procedures. Shampooing and conditioning your hair at
least once a week with the recommended products and advice

1. Use a soft bristled brush prior to washing.
Smooth out any tangles, holding the hair at the roots and brushing from the ends first.


2. Use only a recommended product. It is very important to know if you are adding moisture or protein.

Rinse the hair from an upright position, massage the scalp but not the extensions,squeeze out the shampoofrom roots to the ends. You do not want any matting to occur.
3. Rinse thoroughly.
4. Apply the specified conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends only and leave on for a few mins.
5. Rinse thoroughly, gently towel dry or squeeze . Careful not to tangle any extensions in a wrapped up towel.
6. Spray a leave in conditioner throughout the mid lengths and ends only.
7. Use your fingers to separate the extensions before drying. This helps prevent any naturally falling hair from matting.
8. Using a hair dryer the bonds need to be dried first, also make sure the underneath nape area is bone dry. The rest of the hair can then be gently dried as usual.
9. Oil based products i.e.: serum should be avoided at all times as they break the bonds down
and cause the extensions to shed Attend a regular check-up appointment to maintain the condition of the extensions

General Care
1. Always towel dry hair with a blotting motion never any vigorous rubbing actions.
2. Any self hair colouring should be carried out at least two weeks prior to new extensions being applied.
3. Electric curling tongs and curlers can be used with ease but on Human hair only , the bonds should not fail if this heat is directly applied to them, however they can soften or distort slightly.
4. No high temperature equipment should be used that does not have a thermostatic control.
5. Regularly brush hair from the points to the joints and then from the roots to the points using a recommended brush ensuring the extensions and your own hair is separated.
6. Always hold the hair whilst brushing to avoid tension on the roots. Do not back comb from the roots.
7. Do not use any uncovered elastic bands. A Sauna is not reccomended.
8. Swimming of any kind should be avoided, if not the hair should be tied up out of contact of the water or a swimming hat used. After swimming wash and dry the hair immediately as above.
